Analytics (optional): If website analytics is enabled for this site, we may use analytics cookies to understand how the game is used -- but only after you agree. They are never loaded until you consent, and you can decline them.

We do not use advertising, marketing, or affiliate-tracking cookies of any kind.

These are the specific technologies GuessTheLean uses:

Essential -- game:
- game_player_token: a first-party, http-only cookie that identifies you as an anonymous player. It is the source of truth for your game identity, so your streak and points follow you between visits. It holds only a random token, never your name.
- Player-token mirror (local storage): a copy of that same random token, kept in your browser's local storage. If the cookie is lost or blocked, your browser re-presents this copy in an X-Game-Player-Token request header, so the same anonymous player -- and your progress -- is recovered instead of a new one being created.
- game_loop_hidden (local storage): remembers whether you collapsed part of the game view. A display preference only.
- theme (local storage): remembers your light or dark theme choice.

Essential -- framework:
- _session_id: keeps your visit's session (expires when you close your browser).
- csrf_token: a security token that protects form submissions (session).
- remember_user_token: set only if you create an optional account and choose to stay signed in.

Consent and analytics:
- cookie_consent: stores your cookie choice for one year. It exists only when website analytics is available to consent to.
- _ga, _gid, _gat: Google Analytics cookies. These are loaded only after you consent, and only when analytics is enabled for this site. If analytics is not configured, they are never set.

We review this list whenever our technology changes.

1. Consent choice: When analytics is available, you choose whether to allow it the first time you visit. If website analytics is enabled, you can reopen your choice at any time with the "Manage Cookie Settings" control on this page. When analytics is not configured, there is nothing optional to manage, so no such control appears.

2. Browser settings: Most browsers let you view, delete, or block cookies, and clear local storage, per site.

Clearing this site's cookies and local storage will reset your anonymous game identity, so your streak and points on this device will start fresh.

GuessTheLean sets no third-party cookies for advertising, social media, shopping, or affiliate tracking. We are a free game with no affiliate links and nothing for sale.

The only possible third party is website analytics: if Google Analytics is enabled for this site, it is the single third party that may set cookies, and only after you consent. If analytics is not configured, no third-party cookies are set at all. You can read Google's privacy policy at https://policies.google.com/privacy.

We may update this Cookie Policy to reflect changes in the technology we use or for legal or operational reasons. When we do, we update the "Last updated" date at the top, and for significant changes we may ask for your cookie choice again.
